11/14/08 - Florida - Anthony “Iggy” Affatati has pleaded guilty to charges that he was involved in two investment schemes, federal prosecutors said today.
Affatati, 36, of Parkland was one of four men facing criminal fraud charges for, among other things, using straw buyers to apply for $40 million in mortgages on more than 50 properties in Florida, Nevada and New York. His guilty pleas stem from the mortgage scam and from a foreign currency trading scam and a rap for selling fraudulent securities.
Also charged were Peter Affatati, 39 of Coral Springs; Anthony Louis Cuomo, 30, of Coral Springs; and Brian Schlitz, 39, of Boca Raton.
