12/07/09 - Claims by investors in Scott Rothstein's alleged Ponzi scheme continue to pile up in the bankruptcy case of his former firm, Rothstein Rosenfeldt Adler.
The latest filing in the case details claims of more than $4 million.
The latest investor to file is Marvin Kimmel, a retiree who is listed as a manager of MPK Aviation in Boca Raton. He is also a philanthropist and donor to Democratic Party candidates.
In a claim, filed Friday, Kimmel, of the 2400 block of Northwest 46th Street in Boca Raton, says he lost $250,000 through his MPK Trust.
Filing along with him is Robert Kimmel, of Big Sky, Mont., with a claim of $3.9 million through a company called Circle K Family LLC and a claim of $250,000 through an annuity trust.
Also filing with the Kimmels is Deborah Marlin, trustee of the Deborah Marlin Revocable Trust, with a claim of $85,000, and Kenneth Marlin, with a claim of $132,000.
Francis Carter, of Katz Barron Squitero Faust in Miami, represents the latest claimants.
